Recombinant Bone Morphogenetic Protein 2 (BMP2)
Source The DNA sequence encoding the mature human BMP2 (aa 283-396) was expressed in E. coli.
Molecular Mass The refolded recombinant human BMP2 is a disulfide linked homodimer. Each 114 amino acid residue monomer has a calculated molecular mass of 12904.8 daltons. The extinction coefficient yields 1 OD = 0.69mg/mL at 280 nm.
Purity Sample purity is >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin Level Endotoxin level is <1.0 EU/µg of sample as determined by LAL method.
Formulation Lyophilized from a 0.2µm filtered solution of 35% acetonitrile and 0.1% TFA.
Reconstitution &
Storage
Centrifuge vial prior to opening. Prepare stock solution with 10mM Na Acetate pH 4.0 or 1mM HCl at 0.1mg/mL (higher concentrations in the 1-2mg/mL are acceptable if required). Check the concentration on a spectrophotometer. Aliquot this stock solution into manageable amounts and freeze samples at -80C. Conservatively, frozen samples can be stored up to three months.
Working Solution Thaw the stock solution vial on ice and dilute to working concentration. Store at +4C up to one month.
