Recombinant Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor (bFGF)
Source The DNA sequence encoding the zebrafish bFGF (aa 1-154) was expressed in E. coli.
Molecular Mass The purified recombinant bFGF is a monomer. Each 154 amino acid residue monomer has a calculated molecular mass of 17114.4 daltons. The extinction coefficient yields 1 OD = 1.07mg/mL at 280 nm.
Purity Sample purity is >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin Level Endotoxin level is <1.0 EU/µg of sample as determined by LAL method.
Formulation Sample is in solution of 0.2µm filtered PBS and 1mM DTT at 0.98mg/ml or lyophilized from a 0.2µm filtered solution of 35% acetonitrile and 0.1% TFA.
Reconstitution &
Storage
Centrifuge vial prior to opening. Thaw stock solution on ice or reconstitute lyophilized sample in PBS at 0.1mg/ml. Aliquot this stock solution into manageable amounts and freeze samples at -80C. Conservatively, frozen samples can be stored up to six months.
Working Solution Thaw the stock solution vial on ice and dilute to working concentration. Store at +4C up to one month.
